(Neb.)-Community Invited To Free KCSR/KBPY Spring Preview This Weekend
(CHADRON)-The KCSR/KBPY Spring Preview Home Show runs through Sunday at 4:00 p.m., and available booths are completely filled up. That means Spring Preview visitors will have plenty of things to see and do as they make their way around the Assumption Arena in Chadron.
There are food options galore at the Spring Preview. The food vendor this year is Grandma's Lunch Wagon, operated by owner Barney Reece. Breakfast options include carmel rolls, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and breakfast burritos. Lunch and supper menu items include cabbage burgers, roast beef sandwiches, loaded baked potatoes, sloppy joes, hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade soup and chili, and grilled cheese sandwiches. There are also pretzels, nachos, brownies, cookies, cake, and 14 different flavors of pie.
On Sunday afternoon, Chadron State College horticulturist Lucinda Mays, Nebraska state forester Doak Nickerson, and certified arborists Scott Schremmer and Bill Roberts will give a presentation on trees and how to help them recover this spring after the damage wreaked upon them by Winter Storm Atlas last October. The presenters will discuss tree topics such as pruning and replacing trees and will host a question and answer session as well. This free opportunity is scheduled to take place in the Pine Room at the Spring Preview at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
Some of the booths that will be available at the Spring Preview this year consist of the Winter Farmer’s Market, which will feature a variety of vendors, including Arbonne, Butterflies Bejeweled, It Works, Pampered Chef, Pine Ridge Farmer’s Market, Watkins Naturals, Silpada Sterling Silver Jewelry, and on Saturday only, Doralee’s Sourdough Bread.
Game Changer owner/operator Adam Stone is bringing at least one arcade video game machine, Street Fighter II, to the Preview for a quarter a play. He says he will also have thousands of movies and games for sale or trade at rental prices and encourages people to bring anything they would like to sell or trade to him as well. He will also have his state-of-the-art disc-resurfacing machine at the Preview, and for $2 a disc, he says he can take nearly any scratch out of nearly any disc.
Free Wi-Fi will be offered at the Spring Preview courtesy of Century Link, and the Chadron Car Club will be at the Preview to share what their club is all about and to let people know about the upcoming car show this summer. Stop by the Chadron Record booth to wish the paper “Happy 130” as it celebrates its 130th year of publication in northwest Nebraska. Hear about some of the events taking place this summer at the Dawes County Fair and Chadron Chamber of Commerce booths as well as the Fur Trades Days table, and stock up on your favorite cookies at the Girls Scouts booth.
