(Neb.)-Local Businesses Help Send Pep Band To State Tournament
(Chadron)-The Chadron High School girls’ basketball team is competing in the state tournament this week, and they have a little more support than they anticipated. According to CHS Principal Jerry Mack in his blog at chadronschools.org, the pep band received a surprise donation that allowed them to travel to Lincoln as well.
Mack said that on behalf of Chadron High School, he wanted to humbly thank several local businesses that surprised them Monday afternoon with a donation that supported the high school pep band, allowing them to travel to Lincoln for the Girl's State Basketball Tournament.
According to Mack, very few Western Nebraska schools can afford to send a pep band to the state tournament due to expenses that include the driver, fuel, meals, tickets, and rooms, which for a pep band are nearly twice the cost of sending a team to compete in the tournament. Through this generous donation, half of the expense for the pep band has been covered, which Mack said came as a great surprise to all.
He said not only is this a great experience for the band students, but it provides the basketball team with a supportive student section. He anticipates over 30 students will travel to play in our pep band!
Mack would like to encourage people to please help them thank these donors for their surprise gift:
A Posh Affair
Hinn's Mobile Homes
Chadron Motor Company
Dr. Devin Davis
First National Bank of North Platte
Good Luck at State Lady Cards!!!
