CHEYENNE, Wyoming (AP) - The Wyoming Legislature must finish two main jobs before it can adjourn this week.

House Speaker Tom Lubnau and Senate President Tony Ross say they expect to adjourn by Thursday, but they would like to be done sooner if possible.

Before lawmakers can go home, the House and the Senate need to vote to approve the pending $3.3-billion general fund budget bill. A conference committee put the finishing touches on the budget on Friday.

The Legislature also must craft a bill spelling out how to hold a special legislative session.

Lawmakers say the need to address how to respond to the recent Wyoming Supreme Court ruling. The court overturned a law enacted last year that removed the state superintendent of public instruction from overseeing the state Education Department.
