(S.D.)- SD Park Officials Change Site Of Planned Center
State park officials and a project architect have changed their minds about where they want to build the new visitor center and theater complex at Custer State Park in South Dakota's Black Hills.
Officials earlier had said they were looking at locations near the State Game Lodge in the park.
The Rapid City Journal reports that officials are now considering a site near the park's east entrance and the Wildlife Loop intersection. The spot is now used for group camping.
A visitor center with interpretive exhibits, a theater showing a movie about the park, a separate restroom facility, a bridge over a creek, and parking for 120 vehicles are on the drawing board.
