(Neb.)-PTSD Conference At CSC
(Chadron)-Chadron State College Professional Students from the Social Work 435: Organizations and Communities class are inviting people to their conference, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Veterans’ Invisible Wounds. The conference will be Wednesday from 8 AM- 5 PM at the Chadron State College Student Center. There is no cost for attendance, and lunch will be provided for conference attendees.
This conference is to increase awareness and positive action relating to the challenges and implications of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. The Keynote speaker will be Gary May, a professor of Social Work at the University of Southern Indiana. There will be an interactive panel in the morning with people who are respected in their field; and break out sessions in the afternoon.
Some of the topics that will be discussed are: Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD, Sexual Assault and PTSD, Addiction and PTSD, Differently Abled Veterans and PTSD, how PTSD impacts families, and information for First Responders.
