(CHADRON)-There are two new senior accountants in Chadron now. Fred A. Lockwood & Co., P.C. (FALCO) has announced that employees Mitch Merkel and Tianna Lang have acquired their designation of CPA and have been promoted to senior accountants. FALCO is a regional Certified Public Accounting firm with offices in Chadron, Scottsbluff, and Mullen with additional satellite offices in Bridgeport, Kimball, and Rushville as well as Martin, S.D.
Merkel grew up on a farm in North Dakota, earned an associate’s degree from Bismarck State College in 2000 and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Union College in 2006. He moved to the area in 2011 when he married Chadron resident Lacey Owen and began working for FALCO. This past July, the Merkels welcomed their first child, a daughter named Bristol.
Lang is originally from the Midwest and appreciates the small town atmosphere of Chadron. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Union College in 2009. She relocated to Chadron a year ago from Loveland, Colo., where she worked for three years at Kennedy & Coe, a public accounting firm that specializes in agriculture.
With the addition of Merkel and Lang as CPAs, the Chadron FALCO office currently employs seven CPAs. The firm specializes in agricultural taxation, personal and business planning, usage of current technology in cloud applications, and governmental auditing.
