(Neb.)-Omaha Banker Sid Dinsdale Launches U.S. Senate Bid
LINCOLN, Neb. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) - An Omaha banker is joining the 2014 U.S. Senate race in Nebraska.
Sid Dinsdale, the chairman of Pinnacle Bank, kicked off his campaign on Monday.
Dinsdale is the fourth Republican candidate to jump into the primary race. The other candidates are Omaha attorney Bart McLeay, former State Treasurer Shane Osborn, and Ben Sasse, the president of Midland University in Fremont.
The candidates are looking to replace Republican U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns, who is not seeking re-election. So far, no Democrat has entered the race.
Dinsdale has been considering a bid for at least a month. In Omaha, he was a major financial supporter of a failed attempt to recall former mayor Jim Suttle from office.
