(S.D.)-Free Farm And Ranch Management Presentations In Hot Springs Monday
(HOT SPRINGS)-A South Dakota man has begun coordinating a series of farm and ranch management presentations on topics of interest for ranchers and producers. Dave Koupel, who is a West River Farm/Ranch instructor, first came upon the idea when talking with ranchers he works with regarding questions and concerns they had and items they would like more information on.
The mini-seminars, officially known as the South Dakota Center for Farm/Ranch Management and Hot Springs Ag Chamber Rancher/Producer Mini Seminars, are free and open to anyone. The next presentation will take place in Hot Springs at the Mueller Center on Monday, September 9th, at 6:30 p.m. The presenters will be Amy Pravecek from Zoetis/Pfizer discussing Vaccination Options and Nutrition and The Power of Genetics and also Adele Harty from South Dakota State University speaking about Alternative Methods To Decrease Winter Feeding. After the presentations, there will be time for a round-table discussion. A free meal will also be provided.
Upcoming seminars will be held in October with Melissa Stearns regarding Pasture Rainfall Range Insurance, in November with Dave Jennings of the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association, and in December with Matt Dybedahl of Winfield to discuss alternative feed and forages. Official dates and times for these presentations are yet to be determined.
For those interested in attending the mini-seminar, please RSVP to David Koupal. More information is also available by contacting Koupal at 605-995-7193, 605-299-6163, 605-662-7009 or David.Koupal@mitchelltech.edu.
