(Neb.)-Normal Water Usage Can Resume Says Chadron Utilities Superintendent
(CHADRON)-Chadron residents are able to once again water their lawns and wash their cars, says utilities superintendent Tom Menke. Menke says lightning from a thunderstorm that rolled through the area on Friday evening apparently struck a power supply board at one of the city’s stations.
The broken supply board caused a blockage of water that had to be manually run through the system as opposed to automatically, which Menke said took a lot longer. He says the power supply board has since been replaced and most problems resolved. There are a couple more minor issues that will be fixed by Wednesday, but in the meantime, Menke says things are operational enough once again to lift the water restriction request and allow residents to resume normal water usage.
Menke says he is appreciative to residents for their cooperation through the spike and to city workers for their hard work in finding and fixing the problem.
