(Neb.)-Crawford Man Arrested After Allegedly Attempting To Shoot Dog
(Crawford)-A Crawford man was arrested on Sunday evening after firing a handgun at his dog. According to Dawes County Sheriff Karl Dailey, 48-year-old Donald J. Utter was arrested without incident on Sunday at approximately 9:15 pm.
Dailey said a deputy responded to a call of a man firing a handgun Sunday, and upon arrival discovered Utter with a gun. He indicated to the deputy that his dog had gotten out of his yard several times, and he was going to take care of the situation.
Utter was arrested on charges of discharging a firearm, consuming on public property, other weapons offenses, attempted cruelty to animals, and disturbing the peace. He was transported to the Dawes County Jail, and did post bond. Dailey said the casing and the bullet were recovered, but did not have any additional information on any damage done by firing the gun. The dog was unharmed.
