(Neb.)-Many Donations Received During Stuff The Bus
(Chadron)-Students in the KCSR/KBPY listening area are heading back to school, and some will reap the benefits of donated school supplies thanks to listeners in the area. The Third Annual School Supply Drive, sponsored by both radio stations and the Chadron Walmart, is in full swing, with the Stuff the Bus event over the weekend being deemed a success.
Chadron Public Schools donated a bus for people to use as a drop-off point for school supplies on Saturday at the parking lot of Walmart. There were also hot dogs, chips and a Coca Cola product available for a free-will donation. This year, there were many generous donations totaling over $236. With funding left over from last year, there will be almost $400 of school supplies purchased for donating to area schools.
There were also around 10 bags of school supplies dropped off at that time, as well as backpacks. Several requests have been made for backpacks, and anyone wishing to donate need not worry if the backpacks are new. Gently used bags will be accepted, and will benefit children who do not have a backpack of their own.
Although the Stuff the Bus event is over, people can still make donations of school supplies by dropping them off at the KCSR/KBPY studios at 226 Bordeaux in Chadron, or at the Walmart Courtesy Desk. There is still a need for more backpacks, along with many other school supplies. If anyone has a special request, they are asked to contact the KCSR/KBPY business office by emailing email@example.com, or calling 308-432-5545.
