(Neb.)-Dawes County Fair Right Around The Corner
(Chadron)-It is often joked in Dawes County that once July begins, the rest of the summer is a blur. There are many activities taking place during the month, including the Fourth of July events in Crawford and Fur Trade Days in Chadron. Now that both are completed, and the month is half over, residents are preparing for the Dawes County Fair, which will begin in two weeks.
Next Wednesday, there will be a day full of activities at the 4-H Building at the Dawes County Fairgrounds, as the clothing and fashion show judging, life challenge contest, and clothing fashion show will take place as a pre-cursor to the fair, which begins on Friday, August 2. The fashion show begins at 7 pm on Wednesday, and the public is welcome and invited to attend.
On Friday, August 2, open class entries will be accepted for judging beginning at 8 am at the Dixie Eaton Hall, and will run until 1 pm. The building will then be closed off for judging at 2 pm, and will re-open when that is completed. A full list of fair events is available by stopping by the KCSR/KBPY Studios, visiting area businesses, or going online to www.dawescountyfair.com. KCSR/KBPY will be providing coverage during the week for events throughout the week.
