(Neb.)- Fur Trade Days Parade Totals 75 Entries
(Chadron)- The 2013 Annual Fur Trade Days parade hosted over 75 entries this year ranging from local business, churches, and even class reunions. The parade that lasted just over an hour drew a large crowed spanning from 10th to 1st streets.
This years parade entry winners in the “Theme” category was Western Community Health Resources. Their float was titled “The Places You Will Go”, named after the popular Dr. Seuss books. Western Community Health Resources described themselves as the public health department of Chadron Community Hospital, offering over twenty programs to help the communities in Dawes, Sioux, Sheridan, and Box Butte Counties.
The winner of the “Beauty” category was the Cemetery Kiosk, who offered historical tours of both the Greenwood and Calvary cemeteries on Saturday. The historical tours were living history performances that depicted Chadron’s past.
The winner of the “Originality” category was the Chadron Methodist Church.
