(Neb.)-City Of Crawford Experiencing Power Outage UPDATED 12:45 pm
(Crawford)-Power to the community of Crawford has mostly been restored this afternoon (Wednesday) after an outage that initially effected 449 of the over 700 customers in the vicinity.
Mark Becker with Nebraska Public Power District said that at approximately 10:05 am, a backhoe made contact with an above-ground powerline, which knocked out power to over half of town. He said the line was locked out until 11:33 am, at which time all but two residents had power restored.
As of 12:45 this afternoon (Wednesday), the two customers were still without power, but crews were working to resolve the situation, and Becker was confident power would be restored to those two customers very soon.
(Crawford)-Over half the residents of Crawford are experiencing a power outage this morning (Wednesday). According to Mark Becker with Nebraska Public Power District, the outage was reported at 10:03 local time, and a line technician was en route to the community to determine the cause of the outage.
Becker stated that his records indicate 449 of Crawford’s 710 customers are being affected. As of this time, he has no further information, but stated it could be something as simple as changing a fuse. As more information is obtained, we will pass that along to our listeners.
