(Neb.)-Interviews Begin For New Dawes County Public Defender  Listen

(DAWES COUNTY)-The interview process has begun in the search for a new Dawes County public defender. However, it will take some time, as county commissioner Stacy Swinney says the hiring committee is just getting started.

Things are operating smoothly in the interim says Swinney, so there’s no rush while trying to pick the perfect candidate.

Swinney says it will take some thought to make sure that the right person for the job is the one selected.

Also at their meeting Wednesday morning, the commissioners spoke with road superintendent Larry Hankin about the two open part-time weed employee positions. Hankin said six applications have been received and interviews for those will begin this Monday the 20th. He also said that weed superintendent Shane Cullan has been hard at work getting things in order and the weed trucks ready to go on summer spraying missions.
            Also on the meeting’s agenda, a representative from Cameco Resources was scheduled to meet with the commissioners regarding the Crow Butte plant’s valuation, but they were not able to make it.
