(Neb.)-Veteran's Service Officer Connell Invites Vets To Stop In

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 04/24/2013 09:42 AM

(Chadron)-Dawes County Veteran’s Service Officer Alan Connell has been on the job for several months, but would like to extend an invitation to veterans in Dawes County to stop in and visit with him, as he would like to help in any way he can.

Connell invites vets to stop in any time to visit or gain help with anything to do with veteran related programs or forms, and he will assist with any benefits the veterans may be eligible for.

He said that original discharge papers (DD214) must be recorded at the County Clerk’s office, and he can assist with getting that done. Connell said the DD214 is a very important paper for future use, and even if a veteran is not in need of immediate assistance, a file will be started so if benefits are needed, the file is already in place.

Connell’s office is located at 250 Main Street, suite #9, which is in the basement of the office building. He wants to let veterans know that his services are free to them, and provided by the County. His office assistant, Martha Quay, is also available for helping veterans as well.
