(S.D.)-Forecast Predicts Dakotas Will Have A Weekend Warm-Up

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 04/23/2013 08:16 AM
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - After a cold and snowy early spring, residents of the Dakotas are looking forward to a weekend warm-up.
The National Weather Service says high temperatures are expected to reach into the 50s and 60s in North Dakota and into the 60s and 70s in South Dakota.
That will be a big change from nearly two weeks of stormy weather that has broken snowfall and cold temperature records in the two states.
Another record fell Monday, when the temperature rose to only 31 degrees in Rapid City. The city also had its snowiest April on record, thanks to the 10 inches Sunday and Monday that pushed the monthly total to nearly 40 inches.
But change is coming. Meteorologist Brad Adams in Sioux Falls puts it this way: "The weekend looks gorgeous."
