(Wyo.)- Crews Struggle To Keep I-80 Open In Wyoming
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Blowing snow and accidents are making it tough for road crews to keep Interstates 80 and 25 open in southern Wyoming.
A 50-mile stretch of I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie was closed Thursday because of strong winds creating hazardous conditions. Accidents and weather conditions closed down eastbound I-80 for about 200-miles from Rock Springs to Laramie.
I-25 is open but accidents caused northbound lanes to close Thursday morning from the Colorado border to Cheyenne.
Most other highways in the state have reopened, but the Wyoming Department of Transportation cautions that there are slick stretches and areas of blowing snow severely reducing visibility.
A three-day spring storm this week dropped up to 3 feet of snow on some mountain areas and more than a foot in Cheyenne and Casper.
