By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 04/18/2013 11:11 AM

(Chadron)- Avoiding sinkholes like they have in Florida. That was one of the concerns voiced on Wednesday night by a community member at the LB-840 town hall meeting. Several members of the Chadron community and the surrounding area voiced support and concerns of extending the LB-840 half cent sales tax in place until September, 2014.

City Manager Anderson says that when looking at options for paying for city projects they laid out three different options.

One of the large developments in the works is a storm water drainage project pertaining to Main and First streets. Those in attendance felt that it is time to update the drainage system to prevent future disasters from happening. The project would be assisted by funds from LB-840.

City Manager Anderson says that when voters go to the polls that it includes the words additional sales tax, but only means extending the sales tax.
