(Neb.)-Fundraiser For Old West Trail Rodeo This Weekend

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 04/17/2013 10:55 AM

(Crawford)-The Old West Trail Rodeo will be holding a fundraiser this weekend in Crawford. It will be held this Saturday at the Rodeo Building. Doors will open at 6pm for social hour and dinner will be served at 7pm, with a live auction following the dinner.

Money raised from this event will be used to help pay the bills for the 67th PRCA Fourth of July Rodeo held in Crawford. Some of the silent and live auction items will go toward the Tough Enough To Wear Pink organization, the Circle of Light. Also being offered for sale will be the new 2013 Tough Enough To Wear Pink T-shirts, and raffle tickets for a HOWA 243 rifle. Only 200 tickets will be sold and the drawing will take place Saturday night.

Some of the larger items for the live auction will be: an original painting by Brandon Bailey of Blender Head; a Burns Rodeo bucking bull; 3 Tim Cox prints signed and numbered, which are some of his more recent releases; Scrimshaw Powder Horn by Joe Hanlon; Stud Fees donated by Roberts Performance Horses (Conrad Cash - Double bred Dash for Cash, and Rage Bar Jack - Goes back to Frosty Feature and Stage Bar Ted); Cowgirl Swank Caps donated by Cowgirl Swank.

There are also several more items donated by local artists, crafters and businesses. Organizers hope people will come out to help support a long standing family, community and county tradition.

The menu for the dinner will be prime rib, homemade salads and desserts.   Ticket prices are $35 for a couple and $20 for a single. If anyone has any questions, they can call Jody Bass at 430-3858.
