(Neb.)-Chadron School Board Approves Loan
(Chadron)- The Chadron School Board met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday evening. Items discussed on the agenda included the FFA program and Ag Education. It was made known that currently there are 26 students interested in the FFA program next year. It was also reaffirmed that Chadron State College will offer five to six dual credit ag class for seniors.
It was approved to allow students taking a trip to Washington D.C. to use a bus in May that will deliver them to the Denver Airport. The school board also approved a 1 million dollar 20 year loan from Security First Bank to make improvements to the HVAC system and school lighting.
The board also considered two proposals for an upgrade in phone systems. Proposals came from Great Plains Communications and Mobius Communications, and will be selected upcoming.
Other items approved last night included a proposal from the ME Group for bathroom renovations totaling $20,338. Non-certified salary employees also saw a 2.5 % increase in base pay.
The next school board meeting will be held May 13th.
