(S.D.)- Former Edgemont Police Chief Faces New Assault Charges
EDGEMONT, S.D. (AP) - A former law enforcement officer who was earlier acquitted of assault charges is facing new charges.
46-year-old Brett Jarman turned himself in Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued for him Monday.
Jarman is the former Edgemont police chief and Fall River County deputy. He was found not guilty of assault charges in 2011.
Jarman now faces two simple assault domestic violence charges. According to a criminal complaint, Jarman shoved and punched his son last week.
Jarman is being held without bond. He is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Thursday.
