(Neb.)-Community Garden Spaces Now Available In Chadron
(Chadron)-With warmer temperatures in the forecast, many people are beginning to think about gardening, and some may have already started some of their plants indoors. However, there are some in the community who may wish to have their own plot of land, but don’t have the room to do it. Every year, the City of Chadron offers people the opportunity to start their own patch of vegetation in the Chadron Community Garden.
Garden spaces were made available for leasing this Tuesday. The garden, located in the 800 block of West 6th Street, will be ready for planting and watering on Friday, April 19, 2013.
The plots will be leased for the season as follows: a large plot (55’x30’) is $30, and a small plot (30’x30’) is $20. Unlike past years, reservations may be made at City Hall, 234 Main, during regular business hours. Instructions and a map of available plots will be available. Payments must be made at the time of selection, with checks made payable to the City of Chadron.
Spaces will be leased on a first come, first served basis. For more information, call City Hall at 308/432-0505.
