(S.D.)-Polls Open Until 7 For Hot Springs Voters To Voice Evan's Plunge Purchase  Listen

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 03/26/2013 10:24 AM

(Hot Springs)-Voters are going to the polls in Hot Springs today (Tuesday) to let the City know what they want to do with Evan’s Plunge. Harley Lux, Hot Springs City Administrator, said the polls are open at the Mueller Civic Center until 7 this evening and hopefully results will be available at 8 pm. The reason for the vote is to determine the future of the City’s role in the operation and ownership of the Plunge, which has been for sale.

If the voters say yes, there will be an ordinance on the next City Council agenda regarding re-establishing a parks and recreation board which would oversee Evan’s Plunge. If they say no, Lux said it is back to business as usual.

Lux said that all wards will be voting at the Civic Center, and the possible purchase of Evan’s Plunge is the only item on the ballot. KCSR/KBPY will have the results posted on our web page later this evening at Chadrad.com, and will also have a story on the results on Wednesday morning.
