(Neb.)-Harrison Post Office To Reduce Hours
(Harrison)-The customer windows at the Harrison Post Office will be open a little less within the next month or so, the result of a budget-cutting move that has the grudging support of local residents.
KNEB is reporting the new hours will be 8:30-11:30 and 12:30-3:30 Monday-Friday with Saturday window hours still 9-9:45. Access to post office boxes remains unchanged as well.
The postal service conducted a mail survey earlier this year giving residents 3 options: reduced window hours, moving the post office inside a private business in Harrison, or closing the post office all together.
Nearly half of the 312 surveys were returned and all but 3 supported the reduced hours. That led to a recent public meeting where the two dozen or so Harrison post office customers in attendance vote on the new hours.
