(Neb.)-Sheridan County Accident Claims Life Of 12-Year-Old Boy
(Rushville)-A two-vehicle accident on Thursday morning took the life of a 12-year-old boy in Sheridan County. The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office reported that two people were still believed to be hospitalized as well.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 am 5 miles west of Gordon. Melissa Jaggers lost control of her 2005 Ford Escape on the ice and crossed the center line of the highway as she was traveling eastbound. A Source Gas truck, driven by Kenneth Costello of Gordon, was traveling westbound in the other lane, and struck the Jaggers vehicle broadside. Jaggers and two children were in the vehicle.
According to a deputy with the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, Jaggers and one child were transported to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff via ambulance, and a 12-year-old boy was airlifted to Regional West. The Deputy said the child passed away on Thursday evening at the hospital. As of this time, there is no additional information on the condition of Jaggers and her daughter, but Costello was treated and released at the Gordon Hospital. The names of the children are not being released by law enforcement.
