(Chadron)-Some temporary changes are taking place with a program in Chadron, but area residents should rest assured that help is still to be found. According to Hilary Wasserburger, Executive Director of the DOVES Program, the Chadron office is currently in between staff so the office is currently closed to walk-in traffic. However, help is still available through their 24-hour-hotline at 866-95-DOVES, via the website at www.DOVESProgram.com, and in person whenever needed.
The DOVES program provides assistance to those who find themselves in domestic and dating violence situations as well as sexual assault and stalking instances.
Wasserburger said via email that as a grant-funded nonprofit, the program regularly experiences changes in their funding. When that happens, she said they take the opportunity to look for the most efficient and cost-effective way to serve their large nine-county service area.
She stressed how very important it is that the community knows help is available, and if there are any major changes to the program, they will make sure to get the word out to the community.
