(Wyo.)- House Amends Silencer Bill To Exclude Big Game
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming House of Representatives has amended a bill that would allow hunters to use silencers to prohibit their use on big-game animals.
Silencers would still be legal under the bill that passed the House on Monday for shooting predators or non-game animals.
Wyoming is one of the few western states that bar hunters from using silencers. Proponents say using silencers offers can help save hunters' hearing. But some opponents say they have concerns that using silencers is unsporting.
Rep. Allen Jaggi, a Republican from Lyman, sponsored the bill on the House floor. He says he intends to try to amend it on its next reading in the House to allow silencers for big-game
