The House Labor Health and Social Services is considering a bill Monday afternoon that would ban abortions after fetuses have a detectable heartbeat.
Experts say that the bill would ban abortions after about the sixth week of pregnancy. Abortions currently are available to women in the state until about the 19th week.
Republican Rep. Kendell Kroeker of Evansville is sponsoring the bill.
