(S.D.)-History Conference In Hot Springs Raises Funds For Museum

(Hot Springs)-A conference will be held in Hot Springs this weekend featuring history in Fall River County. The Faces & Places in Fall River County, the 8th Annual History Conference, will be Saturday, January 19th at the Mueller Center in Hot Springs.
The conference will take place from 9:00 AM- 3:00 PM, with St. John’s Church providing lunch, and museum volunteers will treat those attending with coffee and goodies. The cost is $30.00 in advance or $40.00 at the door (which includes coffee and lunch).
There will be hourly door prizes and a drawing for a beautiful quilt and a lifetime membership at the conclusion of the conference. Speakers and topics include Peg Sperlich, Fossil Cycad National Monument; Randy Meyers, Origin of The South Dakota State Veterans Home; Patty Schuh, Virtual Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Hot Springs; Tom Farrell, Early Days at Wind Cave; David Schnute, Dr. Nichol’s Cancer Sanatorium; Pat Lykie, History of the VA; Dawn Johnson, Mahler Family History and Carol Aaberg, the Aaberg Family – From Norsemen to Cowboys.
