(Wyo.)-State Legislature Set To Convene Tuesday

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 01/08/2013 09:00 AM
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Legislature is set to convene at noon Tuesday for the first day of its general session, set to run through early March.

Lawmakers generally take care of housekeeping matters on the first day and won't get down to business until after Gov. Matt Mead delivers his annual state of the state address on Wednesday morning.

Legislative leaders say they face four major tasks this session. They will craft a supplemental state budget, address the proposal to expand state health care programs in response to the federal Affordable Care Act, consider the prospect of increasing state fuel taxes and address issues of school accountability.

Lawmakers also will introduce hundreds of bills on a range of other topics this session.
