(Neb.)-Scottsbluff Man Accused Of Lying On Farm Reports
By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 12/28/2012 08:35 AM SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) - A 77-year-old Nebraska Panhandle man is accused of lying on his farm production reports in gaining a crop insurance payment.
Oscar Lovelace of Scottsbluff has been indicted on two counts of making false statements.
Court records say Lovelace made a false statement on or about Jan. 23, 2009, in a production report to a crop insurance company. The indictment says that report resulted in an insurance payout being inflated by about $3,500.
The second count says Lovelace submitted a false production and acreage information to an insurance company in January 2011. The indictment doesn't say whether that resulted in any money for Lovelace.
A public phone listing for Lovelace could not be found. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney.
