(Neb.)-Holiday Fun At Parade Of Lights And Festival Of Trees On Saturday
(CHADRON)-It’s nearly time for some lighted holiday fun in Chadron this weekend. The annual KCSR/KBPY Parade of Lights, sponsored by Your Selling Team and Security First Bank of Chadron, will be taking place on Saturday, December 8th, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The parade itself will run down Main Street, beginning at 1st Street, and will continue on to 5th Street. There will also be organizations set up along the parade route selling refreshments. Enjoy the night’s activities by viewing the floats and enjoying some hot chocolate and candy. There will be three prizes awarded this year for best float entry.
After the parade, individuals are invited to stop by the Dawes County Courthouse to view the Winter Festival of Trees. Commissioner Jake Stewart has volunteered to keep the courthouse open for tree viewing until about 8:00 p.m. This year’s festival, as in years past, boasts three floors full of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, including a KCSR/KBPY tree. Bring a donation along if you’d like to help support the Fur Trade Days Committee, which sponsors the event. Trees are also available for viewing Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. until December 21st.
Make plans to attend both of these events this weekend and enjoy the sights of the season.
