(Neb.)-Tree and Wreath Festival and Candlelight Memorial Service In Alliance

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 12/06/2012 09:39 AM

(ALLIANCE)-The City of Alliance is celebrating the holidays in a variety of ways this weekend. The 17th annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Festival is taking place at the Knight Museum and SandhillsCenter. Visitors have the opportunity to bid on a tree or wreath for their home or office or to give someone else as a gift. Final bids will be taken at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 8th.
Also at the Knight Museum and Sandhills Center, a candlelight memorial service will be hosted by Prairie Haven Hospice, celebrating the memory of a loved one. The event will take place on Sunday, December 9th at 6:00 p.m. Ornaments honoring loved ones can be taken to the museum during the memorial service or through December 28th.
The Box Butte County RSVP has set up a Tree of Love at Thiele’s Gifts and More for residents of Highland Park and Good Samaritan Care Centers and at Bank of the West in Hemingford for residents of the Hemingford Community Care Center. The trees are decorated with ornaments offering gift suggestions for each of the residents.
The City of Alliance would like to express their sincere appreciation to retired employees for years of service and for the contributions made by citizens who volunteer on the Fire Department and other city boards. They are encouraging these individuals to attend an upcoming banquet being held in their honor. Please call the City at 308-762-5400 to RSVP.
