(Neb.)-Dawes County Offices To Be Closed Christmas Eve Day
(Chadron)-The Dawes County Commissioners met on Wednesday morning with a full agenda, but it was tackled somewhat quickly. Sheriff Karl Dailey informed the board that his department has decided to forego the purchase of any new cruisers because of the cost of law enforcement during the fires this summer. He did say if they get to the end of the budget year and there is funding available, they would revisit the topic then.
Representatives from Blue Cross/Blue Shield as well as the Benefit Group were on hand to answer insurance questions from the Board and other County representatives. The County has been considering changing carriers for several months. No decision was made at this time.
With the holidays coming up later this month, the Board agreed to close county offices all day on Christmas Eve day, along with Christmas Day, but will be open on New Year’s Eve day. Offices will also be closed on New Year’s Day.
