(Wyo.)-Casper Police Apologize For Handling Of Crime Scene
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Casper's police chief is apologizing for how it handled part of the investigation into last week's killings.
On Friday, 25-year-old Christopher Krumm stabbed his father's girlfriend to death at her home before going to Casper College to kill his father and then himself. The body of 42-year-old Heidi Arnold was left outside for hours, within view of people nearby, as police investigated both scenes.
Many expressed concern about that, leading police chief Chris Walsh to apologize on Monday for not being better prepared to handle such a scene. He promised to correct that.
He said wind prevented police from using a tent to shield the body. Officers tried to use cars to block the view but Walsh said that clearly wasn't enough.
