(Neb.)-Professor Offers Consumers Advice On Warranties
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A new study may help consumers decide when it is worth it to buy additional warranties for the products they buy.
Creighton University College of Business professor William Duckworth studied technology protection plans from 12 different retailers to help consumers.
Duckworth says his research helped him develop a set of tips. He says consumers should buy from companies they trust, but read the fine print of a warranty for deductible details.
Duckworth says consumers should also make sure warranties cover all kinds of accidents.
Duckworth also released an iPhone app to help consumers evaluate warranties.
