(Wyo.)- Rural Wyo. Post Offices Stay Open But Fewer Hours
By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 11/24/2012 09:29 AM CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Starting next year, a number of rural post offices in Wyoming will begin operating on reduced hours in order to save money.
But that's better than the alternative discussed in 2011 when 45 post offices in the state were slated to be closed.
The closures were abandoned after many people in small towns complained about losing one of the most important parts of their community.
Postal Service spokesman David Rupert says that three out of four post offices in Wyoming will see their hours cuts.
Jan. 12 will mark the first day the first group of post offices will have reduced hours. They are in Beulah, Hamilton, Slater, Bondurant, Fort Bridger, Fort Laramie, Freedom, Hartville, Robertson and Savery.
