By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 11/20/2012 01:53 PM
(Gering, NE) Thanksgiving is a time for reflecting on the many things we have to be thankful for. It is also a time to stuff ourselves like the turkey we just ate. While ScottsBluffNational Monument will not be staffed on Thanksgiving Day, visitors are welcome to walk the trails from sunrise to sunset.
The VisitorCenter and restrooms will be closed and the summit road will be closed to vehicles, but the public is welcome to park in the parking lot and go for a walk. Pedestrians will be allowed to use the summit road as well as the paved trails since no vehicles will be driving on it. Dogs are welcome on the trails if they are on a leash and any leavings are cleaned up.
