(Wyo.)- Wyoming Education Agency Job Changes Reviewed

By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 11/10/2012 08:59 AM

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Proposed job changes at the Wyoming Department of Education have caused a tussle between the agency and the governor's office.

State schools Superintendent Cindy Hill wants to change about two dozen jobs to better reflect their duties and funding sources, which can be both state and federal.

But Gov. Matt Mead has denied her request and ordered a review of the agency's 150 jobs to make sure they are properly administered.

The issue came up at the Joint Appropriations Interim Committee meeting Friday.

The panel took no action on the issue. Since taking office about two years ago, Hill's management of the agency has come under fire from former employees and some lawmakers who required extra oversight of the agency by the governor's office.
