(Neb.)-Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Investigates Woman's Death

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 11/08/2012 10:22 AM

(DAWES COUNTY)-Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug and the Dawes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to investigate the circumstances behind the death of 77-year-old Joyce Dreyer on Wednesday afternoon.
Preliminary results indicate that Dreyer was driving east of town near Henkens Equipment when she suffered a sudden cardiac-related event. Dreyer lost control of the vehicle, which went off the road and into a ditch. Dreyer’s passenger and friend, Donna “Peggy” Tausan was able to reach over, assume control of the vehicle, and bring it back up on the road to a complete stop.
Family friends Roland and Lois Molitor, who were driving in the area, noticed Dreyer’s vehicle on the side of the road and stopped to render assistance until emergency personnel arrived on scene.
As more information on this investigation becomes available, we will pass that along.
