(Neb.)-Officers Cleared Of Any Wrongdoing In Alliance Standoff
ALLIANCE, Neb. (AP) - A grand jury has cleared police of any wrongdoing in the death of a gunman who wounded three officers during a daylong standoff in western Nebraska in June.
Box Butte County Attorney Kathleen Hutchinson said Tuesday that no charges would be filed against the officers from the State Patrol and local departments who were involved in the Alliance standoff.
Andres Gonzalez died June 12 in a shootout with police that ended the standoff after he had held a pharmacist hostage all day. Gonzalez's father was found dead at his Alliance home on the day of the standoff.
Gonzalez told negotiators during the standoff that he killed Joshua Bullock and dumped his body near Chadron.
All three of the officers Gonzalez wounded have recovered from their injuries.
