(Neb.)-Winds Blow Over Semi Near Berea

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 10/18/2012 11:38 AM

(Alliance)-Strong winds aren’t just making it uncomfortable for people having to go outside, but are also proving to be a hazard to traffic. It was reported that volleyball games between Alliance and Sidney were cancelled earlier due to the risk of a high-profile vehicle traveling the roads, and another report was received of a cattle truck and trailer being blown over near Berea.

The Box Butte County Sheriff’s Office confirms that a truck was blown over around 9 am on Thursday. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and no other vehicles were involved but the semi and trailer.

There was damage done to the vehicle, however an estimate was not available as of the noon news broadcast. The highway was not closed, but traffic was slowed for a brief period of time as crews cleaned up the road.
