(Neb.)-Museum Harvest Feast Tickets Available
(Chadron)-An annual event at the Museum of the Fur Trade will be taking place this month, and tickets are now available. The Feast of the Hunter’s Moon at the Museum will be Saturday, October 20, beginning at 6 p.m. People are invited to eat and drink like a mountain man, sit around their bonfire, and dance a jig or two with the Bald Mountain Rounders.
Tickets are available for $20 and may be purchased at First National Bank Chadron, First National Bank of North Platte, and the Chadron Chamber of Commerce, or by calling the museum at 308-432-3843. Organizers are urging people not to wait, as only 300 tickets are available and through advance sales only.
This year parking will be available at Alpha School with shuttle service between the school and the museum.
Proceeds benefit the museum’s collections acquisition fund. The menu features staples such as Iroquois stew, Bourbon beans, posole, and cornbread as well as a variety of wild game dishes, traditional apple crisp, pies, and drinks. New this year will be Brunswick stew and turkey. The Feast of the Hunter’s Moon, signaling the beginning of hunting season during fur trade times, was marked by the first full moon after the harvest moon.
