(Chadron)-Another death indirectly related to the West Ash Fire south of Chadron was reported to the Dawes County Attorney’s office on Thursday. Chadron Police and County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug were called to Motel 6 in Chadron around 11 am Thursday after the body of a local resident was found in his pickup.
A press release from Haug’s office indicates that 70-year-old Milton Wolf had been evacuated from his home in rural Dawes County and was staying at the motel. He was found in his pickup in the parking lot, and investigators believe Wolf died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Additional testing and evaluation of evidence gathered at the scene will be conducted before a final cause of death can be conclusively determined. An autopsy is scheduled for today (Friday) in Scottsbluff. Further details will be released when available.
