By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 08/30/2012 01:37 PM

(RUSHVILLE)-Student teacher Caitlin Rodiek for the Gordon/Rushville Public Schools tells KCSR that Rushville students are collecting items for the firefighters in the area and will be collecting them tomorrow as well. Any donation can be brought to the school and will be dispersed to local crews. Rodiek says the kids are helping out as much as they can.

(DAWES/SIOUX COUNTY)-The Chadron Community Foundation, Inc. (CCF) has established the Dawes-Sioux Fire Fund (DSFF) to assist private property owners and volunteers impacted by the recent wildfires in the Nebraska Pine Ridge Area. CCF is a local non-profit 501c3 organization. Monetary and in-kind donations are being accepted for fire victims. Monetary donations can be delivered to any financial institution in Dawes or SiouxCounty or mailed to the Dawes-Sioux Fire Fund, P.O. Box 1125, Chadron, NE69337
In-kind donations are being collected at the Dawes County Fairgrounds and Crawford Livestock Market. In-kind donations should not be taken to the fire lines or the Incident Command Center. The DSFF is in immediate need of hay, grain, fence posts, wire, water tanks and other livestock materials. A system for distribution of the donated items is being worked out.
