(Neb.)-American Red Cross Set Up At Assumption Arena For Evacuees

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 08/30/2012 11:01 AM

(CHADRON)-Brenda with the American Red Cross says that a shelter has been set up at the Chadron Assumption Arena for evacuees in need of a place to go. She says they can provide a place to sleep tonight (Thursday) if that is still needed, they also have meals available as well as water, snacks, and a place to just come in and relax. She says whatever evacuees need, volunteers will do their best to either help alleviate the situation or track down a solution to the problem. The Red Cross set up the shelter last night (Wednesday) when they learned that evacuations were in place. Most of the volunteers are from the immediate area. Brenda says no one has utilized the service yet, and that’s okay; it’s here if anyone needs it. She also said that if it is determined that homes are lost in the fire, that the Red Cross can provide some paperwork and options to help see what assistance can be given.
