(Neb.)-Call Ahead If Heading To Fairgrounds With Animals Or Feed

By: Roxie Graham-Marski Posted at: 08/30/2012 10:02 AM

(CHADRON)-Scott Cotton from the UNL extension office in Chadron says 24 horses, a pony, and a goat are currently being housed at the Dawes County Fairgrounds as a result of fire evacuations. He says a couple of area ranches have donated some hay to help feed the horses, and if more people are wishing to do so, please call Cotton at 430-4289 or Chadd Arner at 430-2392, and they will let you know when more is needed. Bomgaar’s is loaning some water tanks for the animals to use. Cotton said if more individuals are needing to bring animals to the fairgrounds, please call Cotton or Arner so they can coordinate where the animals will go.
