GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska State Fair organizers say they're hustling to have a new sky tram ride ready for the event's first day.

Construction is proceeding despite a truck accident on Interstate 80 that damaged ride parts. The truck was trying to merge onto the Interstate when another semitrailer truck collided with it. Both trucks caught fire.

Facilities director Jaime Parr says fair organizers hope to have the tram running at some point during the fair, if not on the first day.

State Fair officials say they were worried about the tram after the accident. But a hydraulic system arrived on Sunday, and they say the project is getting back on track.

The fair runs from Aug. 24 through Sept. 3.
