(Chadron)-Certain sections of Chadron High School will be getting a new roof. At the School Board meeting on Monday night, the board agreed to unanimously accept a bid of $111,200 from Fisher to do the work on four sections of the high school roof.
The Board was presented with a map of the high school, showing which sections of the roof need attention, and when some sections were either replaced or repaired. The four sections addressed Monday evening include a center section covering the building from east to west over the commons area, the area over the front entry way, and two sections on either side of the auditorium where there is a small hallway and doors that lead outside the building.
Weathercraft also submitted a bid for the work, however the board felt that the warranty offered through Fisher would better suit their needs, and although a representative from Weathercraft stated two options they submitted would be less expensive than the Fisher bid, it was pointed out that it was also a different type of roofing, and the Board wanted the modified roofing. Both companies submitted bids for modified roofing, but the Fisher bid was more cost effective.
